Sheryl Cochran named 2014-15 Meadow Lane Elementary principal | Education | Lee's Summit Journal



Why don't we promote from within?



Sheryl Cochran, currently an elementary principal in the Center School District, was named Meadow Lane Elementary principal at the March 27 Board of Education meeting. She will begin her new job in July.
Cochran has served as principal of Boone Elementary in the Center School District since 2004. She previously worked in the Fort Osage School District as a site coordinator-director, as a summer-school principal and as a special-education teacher/behavior-intervention specialist. In addition, Cochran has served as an adjunct professor at Avila University, teaching graduate-level courses since 2009. She has worked in education since 1996.
Cochran earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri State University, her master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, her education specialist degree in administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her doctorate in educational administration from Saint Louis University.
